संस्कृती संवर्धन मंडळ कृषी विज्ञान केंद्र , सगरोळी व युनायटेड स्टेट्स कौन्सिल जनरल मुंबई यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यामाने “शेतीमधील उपजीविका( कुकुटपालन, दुग्धव्यवसाय ) या विषयावर एक दिवसीय कार्यशाळा सत्र आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. कार्यशाळेच्या कार्यक्रमात विविध प्रकारचे कुक्कुटपालन, दुग्धव्यवसाय, शेड बांधणे, दिवसा ढवळ्या पिलांचे संगोपन, खाद्य आणि पाणी व्यवस्थापन, रोग, लक्षणे आणि लसीकरण या विषयांचा समावेश होता.कार्यशाळेच्या कार्यक्रमा दरम्यान, शेतकर्‍यांना कुक्कुटपालन हा पशुपालनाचा एक प्रकार आहे ज्यामध्ये कोंबडी, बदके, टर्की आणि गुससारखे पाळीव पक्षी अन्नासाठी मांस किंवा अंडी तयार करण्यासाठी वाढवतात. कुक्कुटपालन मुख्यतः कोंबडीची मोठ्या प्रमाणात शेती केली जाते. दरवर्षी 60 अब्ज पेक्षा जास्त कोंबड्या खाण्यासाठी मारल्या जातात. मुख्य चार प्रकारचे मोठे चिकन फार्म आहेत; पुलेट फार्म्स जे कोंबडी वाढवतात ते लेयर फार्म किंवा ब्रीडर फार्ममध्ये पाठवतात, ब्रॉयलर फार्म जे मांसासाठी कोंबडी वाढवतात आणि ब्रीडर फार्म्स जे ब्रॉयलर फार्मसाठी कोंबडीचे उत्पादन करतात आणि लेयर चिकन फार्मिंग जे अंडी उत्पादन करतात.कोंबडीचे मुख्य दोन प्रकार आहेत जसे की ब्रॉयलर चिकन आणी लेयर चिकन असे डॉ.निहालमहद्द मुल्ला यांनी मार्गदर्शन केले. तसेच शेड बांधणे, चारा व पाणी व्यवस्थापन, रोग, लक्षणे व लसीकरण यावर मार्गदर्शन केले.शेतकऱ्याला हे कळले की, साईड बिझनेसशिवाय शेती कमी फायदेशीर आहे, शेतकऱ्याला शेतीतून उत्पन्न वाढवण्यासाठी कुक्कुटपालन, शेळीपालन आणि दुग्धव्यवसाय यांसारख्या शेतीमध्ये उपजीविका आवश्यक आहे.
A one-day workshop session on “Livelihood in Agriculture " was organised on 28 June 2023 at SSM KVK Sagroli under the Capacity Building program of farmers on Climate Smart Agricultural Practices supported by the United States Council General Mumbai.
The workshop program covered topics like different type of poultry farming, dairy farming shed construction, feed and water management, diseases, symptoms and vaccination.
During the workshop program, the farmer were made aware of Poultry farming is the form of animal husbandry which raises domesticated birds such as chickens, ducks, turkeys and geese to produce meat or eggs for food. Poultry mostly chickens are farmed in great numbers. More than 60 billion chickens are killed for consumption annually. There are main four kinds of large chicken farms; pullet farms that raise chickens to be sent to layer farms or breeder farms, broiler farms that raise chickens for meat, and breeder farms that produce chickens for broiler farms and layer chicken farming that produce eggs.
There are main two types of chickens such as broiler chicken and layer chicken. This was guided by Dr. Nihalahmhad Mulla. They also guided on shed construction, feed and water management, diseases, symptoms and vaccination. It was learned that in Agriculture without side business is less profitable, farmer required livelihood in agriculture like poultry farming, and goat rearing and dairy farming for increase their income from farm.
